Q: Is this a tattoo academy?
A: No.
Q: Will I be tattooing people?
A: No.
What this course is not:
A replacement for an apprenticeship
A means of qualifying to tattoo clients
A course providing art lessons
The course is delivered by a clinical microbiologist involved in the development of national tattoo hygiene guidance, alongside an experienced tattoo practitioner who provides practical context.
Finding proper training to become a tattoo artist can be difficult. Apprenticeships are rare and sometimes exploitative.
You could buy a tattoo machine and inks online and attempt to teach yourself, but tattooing involves creating a controlled wound on yourself or others, so knowledge about safety and technique is essential.
